Monon, Firebirds, and Ice Cream!

We had another a busy weekend — so our what’s new weekend adventure meant a quick outing for dinner and ice cream. We tried a new to us restaurant called Firebirds Wood Fired Grill. I had the salmon and Chris had the prime rib. I wanted to try a cocktail but it seemed that they were trying too hard and I ended up getting a beer (Hoosier red) to go with the salmon 😆

Afterwards we took a little stroll on the Monon and THEN tried a cute little place called BRICS (broad ripple ice cream station) which is located in the historic Monon Railway Station. I had the Whistlestop Wake-up which is espresso ice cream with chocolate shavings. The pricing was pretty typical for hand dipped ice cream; $6 for a fairly good sized portion. They’re actually open all year and serve hot chocolate and coffee as well. The ice cream was very yummy and also carry dairy free and vegan options as well. 🍦
